Here is a shot showing the elephants in more detail. Much of this decorative work was done by the same artisans who had helped to build the 1915 San Francisco World’s Fair. (Today, a set like this would be generated inside a computer.) |

The massive courtyard of the "Hollywood Highland Center" adjacent to the Kodak Theater in Hollywood was intended as an homage to this set and includes elephant sculptures built to the same scale as the ones seen in the film. They provide some idea of how large the original set must have been.
