The Coliseum had another circus the following December without Beatty-Cole.
They had Tommy Hanneford's riding act, also Struppi as Tajana, Lottie Brunn, Sanger's Riding School (wasn't that Lucio?), the Flying Artons, Norbu and Maddelena Zacchini to close.
Chic: Did the Coliseum do this other years? Wasn't it primarily a trade show venue?

I was told that Brenda McClosky
was the model for this cover girl
(or at least the inspiration)

Yup Dave it was New York's primary
convention & trade show facility
until the completion of the Jacob
Javits Center that was built where
the west side yard tracks were
The train used to park there which
was really handy for the Garden
Tommy Clark made friends with the
honchos of IA local 829 Exhibition
Employees while he was there & got
a card in that local & when he was
ready to leave the Beatty Show he
spent many years in that building
Incidentally that local has taken
in Billers & Billposters
Ixnay on the 2nd year Dave I just
checked with the "source" & Kenny
said it was only the 62 Christmas
(that's kinda what I remembered)
That's interesting. Our local #1 of the old IABBP&D was in New York but that was then and this is now.
There have been quite a few locals
that have been consolidated over
the past few years Dave such as the
NY Operators (projectionists) local
306 has taken in ushers & front of
house staff & the whole Southeast
coast of Florida has become 1 mixed
local 500 but "Local One" AKA
Theatrical Protective Union #1
remains alone in it's mission as
Broadway Stagehands
NY Local 829 is now designated as
EE/BPBD as in Exhibition Employees
Bill Posters Billers & Distributors
