Great shot of the RBBB #250 1/2Track Stakedriver. A bit more information concerning these contraptions. This unit replaced the Mack AC unit #234 which had a double driver mounted on it and was used from 1945 thru the 1948 season. That truck then had the stakedriver unit removed and mounted on the White 1/2 track. The Mack then had a large box mounted on it. The White 1/2 track was used from 1949 thru the 1955 season. It was replaced by another ex-military vehicle for the (short lived) 1956 season. I've attached a photo of that vehicle. Flint |

How much of their stuff was painted
(or left) OD (olive drab) & was it
all purchased surplus
A lot was military surplus. Remember those ammo/ordnance/whatever wagons converted to menagerie cages? Buckles has run photos of those cages in the last of the RB canvas era, when they had the jungle foliage paint jobs--well, my youthful countenance notwithstanding, I saw them in person.
I believe these trucks were known
as "Deuce & A Half's" the nickname
of two & a half ton trucks
Thank you for sharing the color photo.
