From Chic Silber

Once again our industry is referred to in the news
Just heard on CNN News that the ongoing hearings
in the Capitol Building in DC were "Circus Like"
Always preferred tent shows but this certainly
qualifies as a mud show.

From Buckles:
"I recall Kenneth Feld being quoted regarding an article the Washington Post that claimed the Government Finances were a "circus".
He offered to compare the RBBB  efficiency and net income ledger any day."

I see this, and far worse use of the word "circus" on a daily basis by the news media. I have tried to get the CFA Public Relations director to send out a press release to the mainstream media stating our objections to this. But thus far it has only been on a local level.

Buckles, can you re-post Mr. Felds comment?

The 3rd number in the Broadway show

"Evita" (the life of Eva Peron)

is titled "Oh What A Circus" sung

by Mandy Patinkin as "Che" about

all the hoopla surrounding Evita's

campaigns raising & spending dough

Mr. Patinkin was on the Big Apple Board Of directors and during the shows 25th Anniversary Celebration at Pier 14? he arose and made the proclamation to the attending contributors that they should all be aware that three more Hospital Clowns were badly needed.
He explained that they should all be made aware this added expense comes to $25,000 per clown and suggested that they reach into their pockets and write checks at that very moment.
After they picked me up off the floor and placed me back in my chair they continued the evenings entertainment with (what else?) several local circus acts.
