NEW RINGLING FACILITY The beige 100 foot tall walls of the former Siemens plant that can be seen for miles along the Manatee River will not stay blank and bland much longer Circus folk are coming to town Feld Entertainment's $20 million plus rehabilitation of the 575,000 square foot plant where the company that owns Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus will bring its worldwide production headquarters and possibly more is moving at a brisk pace Soon Feld will begin customizing the site to eventually bringing 235 jobs to the region For Ringling which had its winter headquarters in Sarasota beginning in 1927 and then in Venice from 1959 to 1989 the move to Manatee County is something of a homecoming Feld's 46 acre site just north of the Manatee River also might become a bit of a tourist attraction Eventually the company expects to have both the production of its sets and rehearsals here Shows expected to rehearse there next year will include "Disney on Ice" and "Nuclear Cowboys" and possibly the "Gold" unit of the circus the smallest of the circus shows |

I wonder if Back Door Jack is still around?
This would be a good gig for him.
This building sits on highway 301
just West of I-75 in Ellenton & it
has a twin rail spur on the site
with connecting rail to Palmetto
Don't know if Jack is around but
I'll bet his folding chair is
Boy does this ever put Feld Ent., Rbbb and other related shows into the big leauge corporate world. No more camping out to be sure and a big plus for circus in our society. Congratulation Mr. Feld. You and we can be quite proud for sure. WOW. johnny
