MGM rhino Mary. She was trained by George Emerson to do the movie stunts. That’s Emerson astride her, nearest her head.

She was taken on tour ahead of the 1934 movie Tarzan and His Mate. She rode in a van and was exhibited at curbside in front of the movie theater where the Tarzan flick was playing. [MGM did the same with the famed Leo the Lion.]

At the end of the tour MGM sold Mary to RBBB and she toured with it until she died under tragic circumstances at Springfield Mass. on July 5, 1935.
