This is the "Madhouse on Madison" the old Chicago Stadium, 1800 West Madison and the year is 1938. The plot of land where this building stood until it was demolished in 1995 is now a parking lot for the United Center.
The new Cole show opened in 1935 at the Coliseum on South Wabash, then started opening at the Stadium in 1936, not to omit mention of the New York Hippodrome date in 1937.
This was the flagship of Arthur Wirtz who eventually would own the show for a time.
