8 – This view is very similar to one posted just a few days ago showing the massed Ringling-Barnum show elephants. Standing with his hands on his waist behind the second row of elephants is a barely seen George “Deafy” Denman, the longtime elephant superintendent. The next photo will be a modern view of this area but looking from up the street and back toward this area. Note the homes on the corners of the intersecting street: three on the north side with similar arching roofs and the porch of the house on the south side partially wrapping around the corner of the home.
