From Richard Flint #17

17 – Barnum still gazes out upon Seaside Park. Nearby was his last home which became part of the University of Bridgeport but was torn down by them 50 years ago. However, it is appropriate that the land that once was a winter home to animals and aerial artists continues to provide recreation for city residents. However, neither the park’s name nor any historical marker reminds people of an enterprise that gave the city a colorful and distinctive identity for nearly half a century—longer than its residency in the vaunted cities of Sarasota or Venice.

This completes the contribution. Hope it can run today while the red show is still in Bridgeport."

My old friend Jorgan Cristiansen told me that around 1924 [Ibelieve] that when he came there that with so mANY HORSES that Ringling moved him and all horses to a brewery [prohibition] not in use and the grooms, with a cookhouse, bunks, etc. ring barn, as the quarters was so full. I have no reason to doubt him as he was a man of high integrity to be sure.
