I remember Whitey from the Cole Show. Better known as "Mysterious" Whitey, he was crippled and very grouchy causing some to refer to him as "Broken Ass" Whitey.
I think this is the Whitey with whom I served as pallbearer for Jack Joyce's mother, who died in Thousand Oaks, in 1968. He didn't work at the Compound, but just sort of turned up at times. If this is he, they may go back to connections when Jack was on the Beatty show.
Jack was Assistant Performance Director on the Ringling show then, and after the funeral, he and Ethel sat down with me at Harold's House of Omelettes. Jack said, "Honey, let's get Roger over on the Ringling show," and she agreed. He continued, "When I get back, Roger, you'll hear from me, and we'll get you over there." Over there doing what was never suggested, and that was the end of that.
