I was only 13 and this was the first Circus that I went to on my own.
These are two of the five Zacchini cannons that were modified in the 1960's to resemble rocketships. The cannon in the upper right is Edmundo Zacchini's double repeating cannon, which is now in storage in Tampa, FL. The lower left is the Emanual Zacchini X-15 double repeating cannon. The barrel was leased from his brother Bruno's double repeating cannon that was on Cole Bros. in the late 1940's. This cannon has since been somewhat restored to resemble it's original look, and is on display at the Ringling Circus Museum in Sarasota, FL.
