Rather than landing in a net, this human cannonball landed in the water and had to be picked up via lifeboat. (The watery landing tends to indicate that this act was appearing at some seaside resort.) |

I remember seeing this on the old "You Asked For It" TV show in the 1950's. I told Hugo Zacchini about this cannona act being shot into the water, and he told me it was impossible.
I think this was at Steel Pier in Atlantic City, NJ. This cannon also appeared in the movie "Three Ring Circus" with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.
Swimming back to shore would make a much better finale.
Who the Hell's going to hang around to watch a guy get out of a boat.
I'm sorry, but I just can't understand this...how could he possibly gear his landing every time so that he hit the water at a good angle so as not to hit the water flat/parallel which be like landing on concrete? I guess seeing a good video would be a big help for starters.
