CANNONS! #20

Here are two additional images from 1968 showing one of the Zacchini cannons. These were taken by me on the state fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio while the 18th Annual Aladdin Temple Shrine Circus was going on. (I was a senior in college at the time.) That was 44 years ago and perhaps someone can tell us where this cannon is today.

This cannon is still owned by Hugo Zacchini and is in a storage barn in Tampa, FL.

One reason I could kick myself for never having made up a book by date of the subjects, photos, and comments of stuff to my interest that have appeared here. I recall at least one reader did so, but I'm very far behind now. Anyhow, photos of one, maybe two, cannons in terrible condition have been posted. I don't recall whose they were, or where they are, but one was under poor cover, well on its way back to nature. Thankfully, we see this one is ID'd and located.

Bummer, that Chic is on Vacation, but I think this is the canon that he painted and did some work on in Sarasota.

Hi Larry the only Zacchini cannon I

had any involvement with was Pappa's

(Edmundo) during a Jimmy Harrington

date in Puerto Rico long long ago &

I did some rewiring similar to what

I did on Louis Munoz's cannon on the

Beatty Show in the early 60s (that

was the 1st cannon I ever worked on)

The cannon I painted was Elvin's big

boy after it came back from Hong Kong

That's the same 1 on the Beatty Show

currently but now mounted on a red

straight job instead of the semi

Yes I'm on holiday but just can't

stay out of this damn sandcbox

Next 5 days in Budapest then 15 days

on a riverboat (as a passenger)
