Gay's Lion Farm #9

Lions-9, a photo by bucklesw1 on Flickr. Gay’s Lion Farm had a central caged arena, where trained lion acts were presented for visitors. A tightrope-walking lion (perhaps this very same one) was also shown in LIONS FOR SALE, a Warner Bros. short subject filmed at the Farm in 1941. (LIONS FOR SALE is one of the special features included on the DVD for SERGEANT YORK. Frame enlargements from that film were posted on this Blog some months ago and should be available for viewing in the archives.)
