This is the reissue of Beatty's 1935 serial DARKEST AFRICA, which was retitled. (Republic Pictures' president Herbert Yates liked titles that read "King of _______.") In the 1960s, DARKEST AFRICA was cut down into a 100-minute feature film titled BATMEN OF AFRICA. (This was right when the BATMAN TV series was big.)
