Roger and Buckles,
What a great way to start off a Sunday morning.
Many thanks to you two for remembering.
Harry in Texas
As a result of listening to the Clyde Beatty radio show when I was 5, he was my first hero.
He signed this photo to "Lizzie", who is Elizabeth Rebecca Hanneford. She married Ernest Clarke, who with his brother Charles formed the Flying Clarkonians, the first act to consistently catch the triple. She was alternately called Becca, or by her grandchildren, Baba. She was the mother of Laura Elizabeth Clarke, forever called Ernestine, or Ernie, who married Parley Baer.
The Clarkonians, importantly, were strictly a two-act--just Ernest flying, and Charles catching, with no one up there to drop bars.
