Norman "Luke" Anderson bought this elephant (probably from Goebel) in 1956 while he was operating out of Norco, Calif. and then hired Wally Ross to train her.

Buckles,

I just happened onto your blog yesterday. It is terrific!

My wife and I attended the RBBB Barnum Bash (Gold Unit) in Albuquerque last night and it was exceptional!

I am just starting out as a circus fan, although I have knowledge of the Hoxie Brothers Circus and have attended numerous performances of other circuses.

What would you recommend in starting a circus collection?

Sincerely,

Manual "Junior" Ruffin fan

Thanks for the compliment.
If you havn't already, you should subscribe to both BANDWAGON and WHITE TOPS.
As far as starting a collection, why not?

Buckles: Why didn't you tell this poor deluded soul to lie perfectly still until this feeling goes away?

Otherwise, ten years from now he'll have to add a room on his house for his collection and it will all be on your head.

Only half kidding & Junior was a

If he's got the room I've got stuff

Chic,

I have got plenty of room here in my house. I am a writer by trade and am interested in perhaps writing a book on Junior's life.
