I had a nice phone call the other night from Ermes Zamperla. He was asking me about some photos I had taken of his family’s riding act back in 1984 & 1985. I gathered them up and am sending them on to him. Thought I might share a few here on the blog. Ermes was badly injured in a cannon act mishap a few years ago, but seems to be doing quite well in the construction business. |

The new "Leaf" logo on the sidewall
shows that this was 1 of the last
tops that came out of the East Ave
shop after Leif sold it to a yokel
that couldn't keep it going long
Soon after it closed down Butch
Troyer who had worked for Leif for
many years opened his own A1 Tents
out just past the Interstate
are Zamperlas out of the business? remember working with them years ago in buildings...
related to the Zamperla carnival ride manufacturer in Italy?
Yes Bob same family.
Nice picture Chic, you really clean up very well.

Their is a new generation of Zamperlas now presenting a circus bareback riding act. Atos Zamperla is doing a connon act as well.
I am an friend from St. Louis. We use to keep in touch for a long time, but ended up moving and lost contact. Would love to talk to Ermis again and catch up. Do you have a way to contact him?
