As it turned out I bought these elephants from Mack in 1980. They had pretty much out grown the truck seen in picture #1.
They fought every step of the way to Ruskin and being top heavy, I was all over the highway.
Eventually, Phil Schact added it to their caravan and returned it to Mack.

Did Phil get Dondi from Mack

Cutest little fellow but spoiled

rotten by the Schachts until he

tore up their customized truck

By that time he became pretty hard

to handle & they attempted to set

up a sanctuary (maybe in Arkansas)

Phil & Francine were Muscle Beach

folks that Bobby Yerkes turned

into performers with a cradle act

& as the Flying Apollos

Phil and Francine tried their best to train George Plimpton, the writer, for the flying act when they were on the Beatty show. As many remember, George wanted to try everything, if only once--like delivering his one line in a John Wayne picture. On the rigging, for the documentary "The Man on the Flying Trapeze", with Bobby Yerkes coaching, Phil finally caught George in a feets across, and sent him back to the bar. George struggled, and made it back to the board, but after the live audience had gone, and only for the cameras.

As you recall Roger that occured

in Philly 1 spring & although

Plimpton tried very hard he was

awkward & uncoordinated so he

spent weeks black & blue all over

The film editing was well done
