I thought you would like this elephant art and maybe publish it on the blog. I have never seen an elephant administer the heimlich maneuver much less to another elephant!

Bill,
I saw Billie administer the Heimlich maneuver on a couple of grooms, but never on another elephant. Joyce wasn't as proficient as Billie in administering the Heimlich. She would simply just kick them in the back to dislodge any food stuffs.

In a recent CPR class the instructor had to call this maneuver the abdominal thrust because the Heimlich family wanted royalties for using their families’ name.
