My wife came up with this 1958 picture taken shortly after they had joined Clyde Bros. Circus, working "Mary", "Sue" and "Ruth".
I asked about the whip and she said Rex only used it out of respect for Tony Smaha who had remained to show them the routine and insisted it was necessary.
She added that as soon as he had left, the whip and fourth bull tub fell the wayside.

Those 3 guys L of Rex have uniform coats, evidently to flash up Suesz's Prop Dept. This commendable effort had not survived to my season of '75.
