Fred Gollmar was then the last surviver of his brothers and his cousins, Ringling Bros. and Cousins the Moellar Bros. [wagon bldrs]. I believe he was 94 when photo was taken. Leggs were bad but mind was sharp. He was watching our train loading show and remarked that on their show they really rammed the wagons in to the chocks. Much more than we did. He and John Kelly both in their 90s. both sharp. glad I got to know them.johnny

Paul Luckey, our ringmaster lived in Baraboo and in late 30s was in the band on Parker and Watts circus. Was aq lifelong fan and great frien of Merle Evans. He was one of numerous people who had a favorite expression, quote, "I got a letter from Merle today". He did a fine job for us at CWM. Talked knowledgeable and looked the part. He also announced the train loading and unloading and until Bob Parkinson was curater of stuff then in cardboard boxes, etc. in the attic of the horse barn. Yes, they were early days.

Judge Robert Gollmar was Fred's son. He had been Grandmaster of all Wisconsin Masonic bodies. A 33rd degree mason. I sat in local lodge with him at times. nHe recaqlled that at one time all of the Ringling Bros. [seven] could chair all of the chairse in a lodge meeting. Later Alf T. would marry John Kellys [irish] sister and would turn Catholic. He was a fine fellow.Ringlings were just like me with my German [engesser family] roots an Evangelical German Lutheran. [a public interest comment of no redeaming value]

Paul was also a locksmith.
One time while visiting him, he was working on a missing part for music that Merle wanted to use.
Looked just like it was printed.
The man was very good at recreating manuscripts.
What a fine gentleman.
