Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
Was this the 1st or 2nd location of "The Garden" As I recall the joint up on 8th between 49 & 50 which will always remain my very favorite show building was known to be the 3rd home so if this was indeed the original it would have been at "Madison Square" which is the diagonal intersection of 5th Avenue & 23rd Street As a side note the original name of "Times Square" was "Longacre" As Broadway meanders up through the island it's intersections with each Avenue is called either a square or a circle (trivia)
Addendum to that trivia These "Squares" are dual triangles "Times" is a combination of Longacre & Duffy (Father Duffy)
This is where Harry Kendall Thaw shot and killed Stanford White over that brazen hussy Evelyn Nesbit (Thaw's wife).
Sounds like the makings of a film & one of the last century's best Broadway musicals Whitey And Now I'm The Girl On The Swing
