Jules Jacot did a "head in the mouth" with the lion on the ground like this photo. Tommy, the lion who did the trick, was a good, reliable and usually no problem. Jules wore a bolo string tie and before he did the trick he'd turn the tie so the strings wouldn't come out of his shirt. One day he forgot to adjust his tie and the srings touched Tommy's throat and the lion gagged biting down lightly on Jules bald head. Jules was bleeding as he got up - looked much worse than it was. Ladies screamed and children cried. Jules carried on finished the act and loved the publicity. After the news got out Jules show was SRO for next few days. He loved it.
