From Don Covington

Hi Buckles,

The French circus site aucirque.com published this photo. It shows Frederic Edelstein, who presents a mixed cat act with 16 animals on Cirque Pinder sharing the cage with his lion Clarence and legendary cat trainer Wolfgang Holzmair. When Holzmair visited the show, Edelstein said that the Wolfgang was his "idol".

Buckles,
Wolfgang is a lot of feline trainer's idol. Nobody pulled off the "Quo Vadis" gladiator look with as much authenticity and class as Mr. Holtzmair(how about Josip's sorry attempt. :) A crazier, wilder, faster moving lioness act you will ever see. If you ever had the once in a life time honor of witnessing Gebel, Holtzmair, and Baumann, who wouldn't want to be a circus cat trainer? I did, and I'll never forget it as long as I live.

It's great to see him looking so

good & robust after all this time

He was also 1 of the nicest folks

A true gladiator who disproved

the old joke sports score of

"Lions 3 Christians Nothing"

Well said, Wade! (Where's my handshake and sno-cone?) ~frank

Chic - He was VERY nice, as long as you didn't ask him to let Sylvana go to Disneyland with you!
