1947 Cole Bros. #1 (From Buckles)

Circus Admiral Smith with "Little Babe" and "Louie". Rockford, Ill. 7/12/47." Being one of the most common names known, John Smith had several nick names "The Admiral", "Monkey Smitty" (from his days as a menagerie hand) and my favorite "Bull Shit Smitty". He and my dad were big buddies back on the Floto Show and I think my father might have had Communist leanings since he avidly followed a series in Saturday Evening Post about the "Red Colonel". This led to both being tagged as "The Colonel" and "Bolshevik Smitty". No one could remember the word Bolshevic, hence the nick name.
