Jim was kind enough to lend me this definitive Ed Sullivan book for a while so I could scan a few pictures. |

Hey, isn't that old whashisname??
Bob Kitto
The studio where The Ed Sullivan
Show was done was originally the
Hammerstein Theater & had several
other names before it became CBS
Studio 50 (in the 50s) & now has
been renamed the Ed Sullivan for
Letterman's Late Show located at
West 53rd & Broadway
I believe that CBS Studio 50 was
also where Jackie Gleason's the
"Honeymooners" first started
In the back of this excellent history, look for the acts listed by name and the number of times they appeared with Ed. For example, Clyde Beatty was on 4 times.
While you're at it, look for the new one--SUNDAYS WITH SULLIVAN, by Bernie Ilson, out in softcover at 216 pages, around $15. Bernie takes us through the whole 23-year run of the show, 1948-1971.
