Renowned Russian animal tamer Edgard Zapashny on Monday entered the Guinness Book of World Records with a unique horse-riding trick.
The act features Zapashny standing on two horses running side by side, with nothing fixing his legs in place, while his two female assistants stand one atop another on his shoulders to form an acrobatic 4.5-meter-tall “column.”
Brothers Edgard and Askold Zapashny created the risky acrobatic act especially for the Guinness Book of Records and have been polishing it for almost two years. They first performed the trick in July.
This is the second Guinness record set by the Zapasnhy brothers. In 2006, Askold Zapashny rode on the back of a lion as the big cat jumped from one two-meter-high wheel to another over a distance of almost three meters.

In fewer words, "Roman Riding Three High".

All these years and I never knew something was supposed to fix your legs in place, or that it was a big deal if nothing was fixing your legs in place.

I don't believe there was anything fixing GGW's legs in place when he did Roman Riding.

Something fixing your legs while you are Roman riding would be a gaff. The "gaff" to riding the jumping lion is you only sit on his back before he jumps. As he jumps, you jump also, coming off his back(see above photo). Not as many people were snookered by the feat as Guinness, who just needed another silly, useless feat to add to their "records."

Dare I say it?
Were there any mechanics in play?

Only on the riders Buckles

None on either of the horses

Sure like the looks of the lion and rider leap. It sure has the WOW factor.I wonder if the gent meant they do the three man high without pads, AKA bare back, on their steeds? However; rosin is permitted. Chic,I recently saw a perch act that did not have any mechanics on personnel, they did however use them on all their perches.
Dare I say this;
Before judgement is to be passed
from our grumpy old men blog group, a photo of the three man high on the horsey would be nice???

Fredianis did a three high on horseback on Barnum and Bailey and there is a pic of it in Bradna's book.
