Irvin Feld, 1973, Denver Post; years earlier eye surgery seriously damaged Irvin's sight and eliminated his peripheral vision. as a result, he wore glasses as thick as the bottom of coke bottles (seen here); later he was able to wear more stylish less cumbersome-looking specs which created big problems when photographed. |

The Field family has always intrigued me, historically, back in 1980 my family was very successful in business: Entertainment, textiles, ice harvesting, and banking were their bonanza. My side of the family went into religion their study most likely was financed by their brother’s wealth. None of this wealth has trickled down to me other than family heirlooms passed down to my kids. I spent a hundred dollars to appraise a 12 hundred dollar bracelets that I have to rent a box at the bank for because I’m not going to be the one who had to sell it. So I have been blessed or cursed to have grown up around influential and arrogant people. Once upon a time at Circus World, in about 1977, Irving Field was coming to the show, “Don’t put your hands in your pockets or you’ll get fired on the spot,” was the instruction given to the stage hands. I recognized the arrogance.
Correction 1880
another correction for you....
His name is spelled "Irvin Feld"
JD
Did vision difficulties shape any aspect of Irvin Feld's character?
