In recollection of the times in forties when I hadd opportunity to spend time with my father on Cole I just loved that circus and remember it well, but I recall two aerial bar acts produced by Harold Voise who also had the flying act. He had many years with Cole and in turn would get multiple years as well with tge many weeks of Orrinj Davenport Shrine circuses as Orrin would generally have the Cole Horses, ponies and elephants and would use circus acts from Cole being riding acts, flyers, clowns aqnd aerial ladies and acts in general. Orrin and Zack Terrel were good frinds and associates for many years.
However I wasn't quite sure in my recollection of two Aerial bar acts as it seemed that putting up two nets for the bars and then a flying net later would be too much on a show that did so many overnight and one day stands. But there is the proof and believe me as one of the opening acts their comedy aerial bars really tore the house down. Bar acters that I remember were Harold, Jack and George, all brothers and good barperforners, plus Nice fellow Charlie Forrest among others.Cole was a major circus and always had great feature act plus multiple equestrian displays. Just great, johnny
Harold and Eileen Voise were seen again this early morning on TCM, in THE STORY OF THREE LOVES. They had started training the flying act to Ricardo Montalban. After 3 months of work, MGM decided they wanted Kirk Douglas both in the role and in the air. Dick Anderson wrote me they had to start all over again, but Kirk finally did three simple tricks for the camera. Dick had a good speaking role as the catcher. This was the third love story of the picture, in the chapter titled EQUILIBRIUM, directed by Gottfried Rheinhardt.
