Here are two scarce interior shots of the 1904 Robinson menagerie. The tent looks to be about an 80’ with six or seven 40’ or so middles. The Robinson show of this time period was a fair-sized and prosperous show that also had the only advertising car ever decorated with relief carvings. In addition to the recent debut of their famous cottage style cages, Robinson at its probable peak in 1906 carried four big and elaborate bandwagons and paraded two steam calliopes, the only show ever to do so. Too often we think only of the Corporation-era JR show, physically a different show. |
