Grand Finale #1 (From Eric Beheim)

Our 60th anniversary celebration of the filming of DeMille’s GSOE will be concluding, appropriately enough, with the parade through downtown Sarasota. But first, here are a few miscellaneous frame enlargments showing the night-time teardown.

(Is this the wagon that was used to transport the bear act that year?)

Albert told me that at first he had a hard time getting saw dust bedding for the polar bears, so essential to prevent stains.
After getting the runaround for about a week he placed a call to someone in Germany who in turn contacted JRN.
The next day when he got to the lot he discovered 20 burlap bags of saw dust and each tied with Christmas type ribbons.
Somebody must have gotten a pretty good ass-chewing since we see a load of extra saw dust aboard this den.

I was walking by Erhardt Samel in the Garden, when I overheard his lament over the wrong shavings at his feet. "Mein Gott!" he exclaimed. "Dis bin machen yellow Polar bear!"

After blowing this one up, and considering the lighting, the animal in the den at Left appears to be a tiger.
