In the old days of no air cond. Everyone would sit out on an adjoining track until time for train hook-up.Someone would hear a rumble and yell out "hot rail" and immediately the tracks would clear and a passenger or freight would go by. Some at high speed. Quite a time. Sometimes broke up the beginning of a blossoming romance. No hanky-panky allowed in the coaches. johnny
