From Jerry Digney #1

1. my very first circus boss, gruff old Joe Hodgini, Sr. i took the summer of 1970 off from school to travel with RBBB, worked in Blue show wardrobe which Joe and his wife Hanna (former Mrs. Otto Griebling) ran----GM Lloyd Morgan probably got him the gig--and Paul Hudson, fresh from Sells & Gray, was also new to RBBB Blue management (Hudson didn't stay long) Joe must have been in his 70s- and his son Joey was the paymaster on the Red show and best friends for years with Duane Thorpe. Hodginis of course had for years a top riding act, also dog act, i believe. Mrs. passed in mid 80s, Joe later--he must have been in his 90s!

HIYA JERRY!

In the early seventies, Chris Hudson and the late Pat Kirby picked me up on their drive from Florida to meet with Paul and Joey,Sr. in the Des Plaines,IL area.

That is where Paul and Joey,Sr.were going to put up the first Cliff Vargas self-owned Big Top!

Paul ordered it from O'Henry and he and Joey did a great job of putting it up!

Cliff was very proud of his Big Top!

A colorful time was had by all!!
