| This terrific title sheet certainly gets the message across. It was used by the Ringling Bros' "World's Greatest Shows" during the 1915 season. Chris Berry |

Great period piece!
Half the sheet is the title; no superfluous wording here. It's the message at a quick glance.
Clown with sash on horseback--it's the commencement of the era of Poodles Hanneford and imitators, fools on horseback. With arms raised, he's welcoming the audience to the show.
Portraits of lion and tiger, like other solo-focus animal bills of the time, fearsome antithesis to the laugh-making joy of the clowns.
Jockey rider and ballerina on horseback, speed and agility, beauty and grace personified.
Anchors in the upper corners of the iconic circus street parade. It's all coming to town.
Superb.
