This was a very fine [great] animal act. Credit to John Cuneo and Eloise. johnny

"white wolf dogs"? I'm guessing they really weren't wolves, where they german shepherds or Huskies? Sounds like a really great act.

Cage act afficianados might bristle, but I submit the toughest animal to train in that act was the zebra.

One of the ancient challenges met in this act is the immediate propensity of leopards to kill dogs. The separate line-ups may have provided the saving grace, even if only for this classic photo.

Roger,
I for one am bristling because to quote Eloise, "the toughest animal to train for that act was John Cuneo." end quote.

I think that what we call "German Shepherd" the English (or at least Scottish Shepherds and vets)call "Alsatian Wolf Dogs". No exaggeration required.

Chic,
I am sorry, but that is what she said. I wasn't really bristling, just goofing on Roger. Also, I am sorry I forgot to sign my name. I thought I had.

White shepherds came from Bob Leonard Kansas dog trainer and son of famed somersault dog trainer Wick Leonard. In this act a white shepherd did turn a somersault. We know John was implicit in having trainers do certain behaviors [tricks] and he usually got his way.johnny

Roger; From an old liberty trainewr. The zebracould not jump out of the ring. Every thing else is relative. I would suugest the hardest part was to get that "houdi" strapped on, the bit in its mouth and get the sonofabitch from the stable into the cage. All hands. tanglefoot
