Ernie Burch always had the most elaborate makeups, from his early experience on the Dailey show,when he sported a happy tramp character, to this one, which earned him the nickname "Blinko" from C.B. DeMille himself. He also landed a scene with Charlton Heston, asking, "Why the rehearsal just for makeup, Brad?" "Because you left your eyelashes off in the last show, last season", was the gruff reply, and Blinko was immortalized on film. Ernie was business-wise, and had "Blinko" copyrighted.
