Eric said...: All of James Stewart’s scenes were filmed in Hollywood and someone doubled for him in the sequences filmed in Washington, D.C. during actually circus performances. Does anyone know who the double was? (It would have to have been someone who was tall and thin like Stewart was.) Perhaps Jackie LeClaire can help us out with this one.; 25 May, 2011 10:23

I read somewhere that Jimmy Stewart's wife was having one of there girls and he missed the
D C filming and joined up at the Philadelphia date.
Now this might be wrong and if Jackie knows the answer I hope he replys.
You can tell alot of his scenes had the green screen.

Anonymous said...: Jimmy Stewart did indee film some of his scenes under the real big top. He joined after his wife gave birth to their twin daughters.
I have two names on my call sheets for Stewart doubles. One is "Bones" Brown and the other is Ted Mapes.
