RBBB 1943 #1 (From Jerry Digney)

RBBBTENT6, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Of historic interest, RBBB under the big top.

for all the exterior shots of the RBBB tented era, strangely you don't see that many good interior performance shots--here are some unusual shots from the 40s (mid 40s, Robert Ringling era before they went to the dark blue top that made the interior much darker in daytime?)--I notice the Scottish theme elephant number which was Robert's time as president. Also, interesting to see two or three handlers in one ring--is that excessive?

Those big elephant acts always had a "herd worker" and a couple of "pushers".
The surprising thing tho, is that even the "tub rollers" are in uniform.
Today the wardrobe coordinates and fittings are done at Wall-Mart, easy to replace, no muss, no fuss.
