Beautiful colorful photos of the setting up of the Big Top for the Ringling Circus.
I only saw tht once in my life when I was a young teenager in Worcester, Massachusetts with my uncles. The hometown of my grndparents in the 1950's before it was decided that Ringling will no longer be under the Big Top. It was truly the Greatest Show on Earth without any doubt in my mind. Living in Boston, I would see the Ringling Circus in Boston Garden. And would often see Fr. Sullivan who was circus chaplain at the time. The circus would arrive in May after Madison Square Garden in New York City. Then it would go on its tented tour. through out the United State.
Now Big Apple Circus is in Boston at the Government Center for about 6 weeks under the Big Top.
Carson and Barnes Circus had a verhy big and long Big Top with 5 rings when I would see it in Denver, Colorado. Now sevefral years ago and it down to a smaller tent now.
I give thanks to all these workers who continue to set up the tent and als in the Arena shows.Fortunately I have the movie of the "greatest Show on Earth" to brng me back in memory of the circus under the Big Top.
I am waiting here in Cochabamba, Bolivia for the movie "Water for the Elephants"

I have no idea who the original photographer was but these are some of the best circus photos I have ever seen. The detail is just great and the color is wonderful. Thanks for sharing them with us.
