In Johnson, Nebraska, population 80, with a night show only, James had plenty of time to practice. I was there to witness his first forward somersault on the wire. He was then using Hubert Castle's rigging. His father, Corky, manned the mechanic, as James also threw a series of successful triples on the trampoline. The date was July 29, 1973.
