This image of the Green Hornet stunning the leopard with "Hornet gas" was probably made during the actually filming. (I doubt if the leopard would have tolerated too many re-takes, especially one staged just for the benefit of the View-Master cameraman.) The View-Master image actually captured the action much better than does the shot that appears in the TV episode!) |

At a major toy industry trade show held early in 1966, all the talk was about the new Green Hornet TV show that was due to premier in the fall. View-Master hadn’t considered doing a set of Green Hornet reels and was unprepared for what was shaping up to be a merchandising bonanza. Undaunted, the company’s rep at the trade show made a quick trip to a local ad agency, “borrowed” a drafting table, and designed a Green Hornet packet cover on the spot. As soon as this cover was put on display, the orders started to pour in. Luckily, View-Master was later able to obtain the rights to produce such a packet and was able to fill all the orders.
