Adele Nelson "Myrtle".
In Vaudeville she did a Sally Rand "Fan Dance" at the conclusion of which she did a hind leg stand and modestly covered her crotch with the fan.

Is this the same Myrtle that was with the Hoxie show in the early 1970's. If so, what ever happened to her?

Same elephant.
I don't have any record of her after 1980.

Buckles: Don Marcks wrote that Myrtle was bought in 1981 by Patrick and Pamela Sue Guthrie for their planned Jules and Beck Circus (named for daughters Julie and Becky), which they took out in 1982 and 1983, maybe longer, and that's the last I know of her.

Norma and the whole Cristiani Family adored Myrtle!!

We would be thrilled to find a video of Norma working with Myrtle, performing the Sally Rand fan dance.

Hoxie sold Myrtle to the Guthries telling them she was about 27 yrs old. [she was so weak Hoxie figured she would not make it. Guthries had Myrtle living in the trailer and doing elephant rides at chucky cheese pizza joints. Very sad in how she ended up. Also for some years she was stranded in South America.
