Hi Buckles,
As mentioned in my post for the giraffe wagon # 83, attached are three photos that I took in November of 1972.
Ringling played the brand new Nassau Coliseum on Long Island.
As you well know they have a very large exhibition hall. They displayed the giraffe for the last time before sending the wagon back to Venice (I think).
What a grand sight it was to see all the animals on display. The elephants (don't remember how many but at least 18-19), upwards of 30-40 horses plus camels, zebras, ponies and of course the big cats. Unfortunately because of where it was displayed I couldn't get a full shot. I believe either wagons or beams were in the way.
Notice the unusual way the pen is held upright.
