Harry Carey a noted cowboy movie personality who was
featured in the after show.
He is credited with giving John Wayne his first break in the
movies and consequently often appeared in Wayne's westerns
throughout his career, along with his son Harry Carey Jr.
Pretty nice looking tralier here, other cowboys that appeared
over the years were Hoot Gibson, Tom Tyler and Lee Powell.

Somewhere down the line Frank

McClosky became friends with

Woo Woo Stevens & for a few years

he was added to the Commack show

(as were a few other extra acts)

Somehow during his routine on

the last day of the engagement

a rubber chicken was flown in

as he shot off his revolvers

Last summer I asked John Pugh about Woo Woo Stevens being an added "feature attraction" to the CBCB shows when they opened in Commack during the late 60's early 70's. At first he had very little recall as to who Woo Woo was. I refreshed his memory. John merely stated that Woo Woo knew McClosky and having him added to the show in Commack was a favor of some sort. As a younster I can only remember Woo Woo coming out and sitting in a chair center ring playing a banjo or guitar and singing a few songs. Not what I would call an act or attraction that would draw them in. Can you shed some light on the Woo Woo - McClosky connection ? Over the years I have often wondered.
Thank you.

McClosky had a fondness for banjo

music from his early years so I

was told & he happened upon Harry

Stevens in a club somewhere & they

became chummy somehow

Many years later Frank arranged

for Harry to play in some joint

near his home in Winter Park &

it was from there that Harry was

offered to do the Commack date

for a few years

I do recall Frank asking a few of

us in the office 1 day "Doesn't

he play a hell of a banjo" & no

1 answered him out of respect
