Hi Buckles -- My exhibit: "THE MAGIC SPEED OF DREAMS: LIFE IN THE AMERICAN CIRCUS 1900-1956" opened this past Sunday at The St. Louis Mercantile Library to a good crowd and nice reviews. It runs through August 7 -- about six months -- so for anyone motoring across the map this year, I do hope they will plan to stop by and have a look. This really is a bit of a dream come true for me. I have actively been collecting circus memorabilia for decades now, and many a friend, be they fellow performers, circus fans, etc., have so graciously passed things on to me over the years. I've always wanted to do more with this stuff, so that people can see and enjoy it as much as I do. And now, finally, here it begins! I had the privilege of speaking on Sunday at the Mercantile, as well as conducting a gallery walk, detailing many of the items on exhibit. The attached couple of pictures are from that particular event. My wife, Barbara teaches at the University of Missouri, on which campus the Mercantile is now located. The UMSL on line news did a nice little write up about us. The link to same is attached, should anyone like to have a peek. http://blogs.umsl.edu/news/2011/02/22/circus-prof/ I'll try to snap a few more pictures of the display over the next week, but for now I hope this represents what has evolved.
