Buckles: Was printing a few photos to take up to the Hanneford Show in White Plains tomorrow (On hand Friscos Davide & Susan Zoppe, Bruno Blazak) and came across these 3 in my files. I took the Bucky and Axel pics, Ben and Darlene let me photocopy the Rex pic they had with them. I think it was done for a newspaper or magazine, you probably know. We'll see the opening of RBBB Red in Newark. Best to the Troupe,Paul |

Hi Paul,
Well aware that Madison Square Garden is under major renovations which is 86ing RBBB this spring, the line that RBBB is making their metro New York City opening in Newark doesn't carry the weight as "opening in the Garden". Not that there is anything wrong with Newark!
Keep sending those cards and letters and photos, Paul!
Mike, the Garden, when available, remains THE opening night. Newark is a new venue the Feld's developed about 3 years ago when the new and beautiful Prudential Center opened. If it doesn't by now it will eventually have direct rail service from NY City. RBBB NY City area run in the past few years has been Newark, Meadowlands (East Rutherford, NJ), The Garden, and Nassau Coliseum in Long Island. I believe they've added days in Rutherford and Long Island this year.
Mayor of Newark Corey Booker is a big RBBB fan who has mentioned more than once when addressing the public his fond memories of his grandmaother taking him to the RBBB show.
Best, Paul
In 2012 the new state of the art Barclays Center will open in Brooklyn and have direct train access from Manhattan.
The Garden is still a premiere venue but with 4 competing arenas surrounding it the need to be at the Garden is greatly diminished from a practical matter.
The argument has always been that the national media is available when playing at the Garden. This has been proven wrong in recent years.
Most of the New York media are available if a show is in the New York area. The logistics get somewhat more complicated but the coverage is there is one makes an effort.
