1957 Polack Bros. Circus #2

I appreciate these pictures because one of the Military Bases they played that year was Ft. Chaffee where I was stationed before going overseas. They showed in a baseball stadium similar to this and I spent as much time as I could with Peggy and Mack.
One day Peggy made me a meal and it was terrific.
Elephants were "Jean", "Betty", "Millie", "Kathy" and "Opal".

1957 was a busy year for me, opened with RBBB and while in the Garden received notice from the Draft Board to report to the nearest induction center which was downtown at the Battery, they had their quota which left me in limbo.
So returned to Hugo and got the same response and but the meantime I got a call from Paul Kelly who needed someone to take an elephant act to Garden Bros. Circus under canvas.
I wound up taking "Nellie", "Wilma" and "Jennie" up to Canada unaware that I wasn't supposed to leave the country.
The head man was Bill Garden Jr. followed by Ian and the twins Dickie and Kandy were just kids.
Ron Morris ran the concessions.
When the tour ended I returned the elephants to Peru, to find that the FBI had been there inquiring about me so I reported to them right away and was told to report to the Draft Board in Hot Springs which I did and without further ado found myself in Ft. Chaffee.
