I do not remember the costumed girl on the wagon. Mary Jane would know her name, she was new that year I think. The wardrobe lady on the right is Genevieve McCarthy. Forgive me for the spellings, We always called each other by their first names and unless you were Willie Mosier the mail man, you never saw their last names. Jackie

The lady in the center looks like Millie Ward to me and second from right is Dolly Copeland.

I've had this classic magazine story since I was a kid but its great to see it again because we're benefiting from having people identified. With such a classic magazine and great photos, the show people deserve to be identified and not lost to history in the coming decades. I could have identified Dolly Copeland but never would have identified Genevieve McCarthy as she looked much different by the time I met her. Many thanks, Buckles and Jackie. More, please!

You better be careful, Dick. This Circus 'thing' COULD become an obsession! ~frank

Yes, Buckles, that is Millie Ward. I had know her when she came on the show as Millie Keathy. I was so suprised much later in life when I found out she was the real Millie Ward. I did send or try to send an add-it-on to this photo, but some how it didn't make it. Jackie

The first girl in the chair is Kathryn Kramer. She came from New York City. She was tumbler and contortion able to bend back and put her chin on her behind. She worked in Justino Loyal's ridding act, did web, cloud swing, elephants etc. She was also in a show acrobatic act that Pat Valdo put together in 45 called the "Bombshells". This was during the war you know. It also had it in Laura Mae McKinezy (spelling)who later married Mike Petrillo boss prop man. She was out of Terra Haute, Indiana. At one time, Albert Powel was teaching her his act because she was a real good contortionist and could do the bends like he did. Vallie Frohm from the Naietos was also in the act and a CAnadian girl named Donna Cameron. Jackie LeClaire
