From Dave Price #1

Dear Buckles: I lost Mary Jane at 10:15 yesterday morning. These pix are from 1973 and 2007. I have been the most blessed of men to have had her forty-one years. Alzheimer's is a terrible illness and I'm so glad she doesn't have to suffer from its cruel effects any longer. Regards to all, Dave

Dear Dave & Family,
I am so sorry to learn of your loss and I extend my sincere sympathy. Our family is not unfamiliar with Alzheimer's so we have some real concept of what you have gone through.
May the passage of time and fond memories help to ease your pain.

Thanks to Fred Pfening, Jr., who provided me with Dave's address, we kicked off a correspondence in 1966, sharing our research of Clyde Beatty, that continues today.

It was my pleasure to first meet the Prices, in Columbus, Ohio, when Dave brought Mary Jane and Johnny to visit us on the 1980 Winter Tour of the Beatty show.

Mary Jane was a gracious hostess to me on two visits to their Nashville home, in 1990, and again in 1995. I can testify that in her Southern hospitality, she set down the most delectable roast beef dinner ever to grace a table.

Mary Jane was a true partner with Dave, not only in taking out their magic show, and in working publicity and billing for numerous titles, but in being by his side during the accumulation of his fabled Beatty collection.

My sincere condolences to
Dave, and may this good woman rest in peace.
